New York Cancer and Blood Specialists is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatric) Near Suffolk, NY

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Suffolk County, NY
New York Cancer and Blood Specialists (NYCBS), a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a NP/PA to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research department.
In this role you will:
  • Assess patients' mental and physical status based on the presenting symptoms and complaints and diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions
  • Develop treatment plans which align with established diagnoses
  • Administer psychiatric consultation, psychoeducation, crisis intervention when necessary
  • Prescribe medication and assess for compliance
  • Work collaboratively with an administrative team to ensure patient follow up/compliance with established treatment plan
  • Complete reports, additional documentation, and/or other duties and responsibilities timely to align with NYCBS policy/procedure and as requested by supervisor
  • Adhere to all HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and recordkeeping
We require:
Education:
  • NYS license as Nurse Practitioner of Psychiatry (PMHNP)
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-licensure experience working with chronically ill patients is preferred.
Other skills:
  • Strong computer skills are required. The ability to use Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are critical. The knowledge or ability to learn software programs including use of data and trends to inform clinical practice
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Reliable transportation to service patients in multiple offices across Suffolk County, NY
Days: Monday-Friday
Salary up to $165,000/annually
